In October 2023, Portugal attended the 23rd Walk21 Conference, held in Kigali, to witness the world’s largest conference dedicated to pedestrian mobility, which will take place in Lisbon in October 2024.

The Portuguese edition will bring together specialists, technicians and experts from around the world who are dedicated to and studying the subject. The event will allow us to share knowledge on how to: develop and implement walking policies and programs; create safer streets; increased the value of walking mobility.

We will discuss how walking mobility policies and projects are transforming the urban paradigm, helping to meet safety, equity and climate objectives and attracting investment for urban development that supports walking.
