1st meeting of Interministerial Commission for Active Mobility
The publication of the National Walking Strategy meant that the Interministerial Commission for Active Cycling Mobility (CIMAC) was transformed into the Interministerial Commission for Active Mobility (CIMA), with the aim of ensuring political coordination and guidance towards the objectives set out in National Strategy for Active Cycling Mobility and National Walking Strategy.
Thus, on September 7, 2023, the 1st Meeting of the Interministerial Commission for Active Mobility took place, with the aim of presenting the latest developments in the strategies to the various Government Areas involved.
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of State for Urban Mobility, Jorge Delgado, and presented by the Project Group for Active Mobility, which coordinates the National Strategy for Active Mobility.
The Government Departments of Finance, Justice, Internal Administration, Parliamentary Affairs, Economy and the Sea, Science, Technology and Higher Education, Education, Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Health, Infrastructures and Territorial Cohesion were present, demonstrating the enormous relevance and scope of the strategy.
The government representatives present unanimously acknowledged the growing importance of active mobility and demonstrated the commitment of all government areas to encourage cycling and walking.
