Portugal remains the biggest bicycle producer in the EU
According to data published by Eurostat, in 2023 bicycle production in the European Union was down 24% compared to the previous year, with a total of 9,7 million.
Portugal, despite recording one of the biggest reductions between 2022 and 2023 (-0,4 million units), remains the EU’s biggest bicycle producer for the fourth consecutive year with 1,8 million units produced.
As in the previous year, Romania, Italy and Poland were the countries that produced the most bicycles, with 1,5 million, 1,2 million and 0,8 million bicycle units produced respectively.
